I WILL FROM TODAY NEVER GO TO WATCH MOVIE IN THEATER AND BUY ANY OF THOSE RIAA CONTROLLED OVERPRICED MUSIC CDS. I WILL ALSO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY MUSIC FROM THE INTERNET, THE PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK, EITHER.

This is the first vow I ever made and I plan to fulfill it.

I think Patricia Santangelo, by turning down the settlement offer, because she 'didn't do anything wrong', and deciding to face the lawsuit brought to by the Brute, RIAA, simply did a marvelous and courageous job. I fully support it. If needed I am ready to help her with whatever I have and with whatever I can. Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is also doing excellent job of fighting for all small things that is being taken away from common people and common customers in the name of national security, copyright, and what not.

In digital age, it is obviously difficult to apply the same laws we had, especially in cases of copyright and privacy issues, for physical objects. I just saw a posting in EFF's website about Federal Communications Commission (FCC) moving ahead towards making the Internet friendly for wiretapping by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). It is ridiculous. The Internet already has too many loopholes that makes is almost impossible to hide ones identity. There is always at least on entity in the Internet that knows the user's true identity. It is only a matter of decor that that entity remains silent in most of the case. Now with FCC's this move, the FBI can become big brother.

Can anybody imagine electing the President of the United State of America by open ballot? (Did I hear somebody say 'yes'?) At least I can't. In such case there will be so much turmoil and so much confusion that the impartiality of the election will vanish. Similarly, by making the identity of the user more public, anonymous writings will be suppressed. People will have to watch their back before they can post anything, especially those issues that are of public concern but are likely to nettle somebody in power, in the internet and this will not help the founding principles of the USA guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. I don't like that to happen.
